91社区 Theatre Lab Recognized with Two Carbonell Awards

Theatre Lab, the professional resident theater company of 91社区, recently was recognized with two Carbonell Awards at the 43rd聽 annual Carbonell Award Ceremony. Dawn C Shamburger, Theatre Lab鈥檚 resident costume designer who has designed the costumes for every full production at Theatre Lab since its opening in 2016, received Best Costume Design for her work on 鈥淭he Revolutionists,鈥 by Lauren Gunderson. Additionally, Niki Fridh took home the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Play for her work in 鈥淭ar Beach,鈥 by Tammy Ryan.聽

The Carbonells honor the best of South Florida theater from the previous calendar year, and include work by theaters from Jupiter to south Miami. Out of these hundreds of productions, approximately 97 were 鈥渞ecommended鈥 for potential awards, with Theatre Lab nominated for six. 聽Besides Shamburger and Fridh, the nominees included Desmond Gallant for Best Actor in 鈥淏e Here Now鈥; Mia Matthews, Best Supporting Actress in 鈥淭he Revolutionists鈥; Matt Stabile,聽Best Director for 鈥淭he Revolutionists鈥; and Michael McClain for Best Scenic Design in 鈥淏e Here Now.鈥
