91’s hosted the 27th annual Business Leader of the Year breakfast recently at the Boca Raton Resort & Club to celebrate the accomplishments of Fabiola “Fab” Brumley, market president in Palm Beach County.

Brumley, who earned her MBA and bachelor’s degree in accounting from 91, serves as Bank of America’s enterprise leader in Palm Beach County, working across the region to connect Bank of America’s business lines to deliver integrated financial services to individuals, families and businesses. She also leads Bank of America’s corporate social responsibility work in the region, which leverages the capabilities of the company to help partners, people, communities and a broad client and customer base more effectively address a wide range of issues.

In her remarks, Brumley recalled the values instilled in her by her late father, who also earned two degrees from 91 after immigrating to South Florida with his family from Beirut, Lebanon. She also thanked friends and colleagues who travelled to join her at the event, as well as several family members, many who also earned degrees from 91.

In closing, Brumley shared some words of wisdom with the students in attendance.

“91 gave me the power to choose for whom and with whom I work,” Brumley said. “I chose a company that shares my values. A company that serves its customers. A company that invests in creative thinking by innovating. A company that believes in governance with social consciousness. And a company that believes that we can do more together than alone. Someday when I look back on my life those are values that are worth my time. How will you invest your time and what would you like the power to do? Together in this room and beyond we give 91 the power to grow better people, better citizens and better leaders. Thank you for listening and for this incredible honor.”

A portion of the money raised from the Business Leader of the Year event will provide scholarships to students enrolled in the College of Business at 91.

In addition to her market president role, Brumley is the Southeast Region Business Banking executive for , responsible for a seven-state region in the southeastern U.S. Business Banking serving small to mid-sized U.S. companies with $5 million to $50 million in annual revenues. Since beginning her career in 1982, Brumley has served in a variety of roles, including controller, chief financial officer, commercial lender, client manager, market manager and market executive. She has also held the position of Palm Beach County president since April 2007.

Since 1991, 91’s College of Business has presented the Business Leader of the Year award, honoring the work of outstanding contributors to the overall business climate of the southeast region of Florida and the state. Brumley joins other honored recipients of the award, including Colin Brown, Heiko Dobrikow, Naren Gursahaney, Jeff Stoops, Jordan Zimmerman, Wayne Huizenga, Jim Robo, Mike Jackson, Ronald Assaf, Alexander Dreyfoos, Jim Moran, Carl DeSantis, Pat Moran, Jeb Bush, and Alan Levan.
