91社区 has been named to Military Times 鈥淏est for Vets: Colleges 2016鈥 rankings for the fifth year in a row. 91社区 has also earned the designation of Military Friendly庐 School for 2016 by Victory Media, a veteran-owned business recognizing colleges with leading programs for veterans, members of the Armed Forces leaving military service and military spouses. These recognitions highlight 91社区鈥檚 commitment to educating and providing opportunities to America鈥檚 veterans.
鈥淲e know that the needs of military and veteran students evolve over time, and as a result, we continuously assess our services and support programs to meet their needs,鈥 said Andrea Oliver, Ph.D., assistant vice president for student outreach and assessment at 91社区. 鈥淢ilitary and veteran students are goal oriented, resilient, and experienced leaders, and serve as role models in our institution and community.鈥
The annual 鈥淏est for Vets鈥 survey asks colleges and universities to document services, accommodations and financial incentives offered to students with military ties. The extensive evaluation also factors in academic rigor, student-faculty ratio, graduation rates, and student success.
To earn Military Friendly庐 Schools status, 91社区 had to meet certain criteria, including the level of on-campus military support, academic credit acceptance, tuition assistance, spouse and dependent benefits, and flexible scheduling.
The 鈥淏est for Vets: Colleges 2016鈥 rankings are published in full in the November issues of Army Times; Navy Times; Air Force Times and Marine Corps Times. The rankings also are available at
